This small TPE dust cap was used for a charging port where even a slight dimensional difference could cause loose fitting or difficult removal. Before mold making, TryCooler optimized the sealing edge profile and pull-tab thickness to reduce assembly problems during sampling.
The customer tested the first samples for hand feel, assembly fit, edge smoothness, and burr control. The approved samples were later used as the standard reference for mass production, inspection, and packing.

This two-color overmolded TPE handle was designed for tools used in demanding industrial environments. The grip needed to remain non-slip, comfortable, and firmly bonded to the rigid plastic base during repeated use.
During the DFM review, TryCooler focused on the edge transition, bonding area, and TPE layer thickness to reduce peeling risk before mold making. After sampling, the customer confirmed that the grip feel, bonding performance, and two-color surface finish were better than expected.

Have questions before starting your TPE molding project? Here are the key points customers usually ask about drawings, material selection, hardness, overmolding, samples, quality control, and delivery.
1. Who owns the mold after payment?
After the tooling cost is paid, the custom mold belongs to you. TryCooler only uses it for your project. We can store and maintain the mold for repeat orders, and the ownership can be clearly written in the contract.
2. How do I know whether TPE is better than silicone for my part?
TPE is usually better for cost control, faster production, soft-touch parts, grips, seals, and overmolding with plastic. Silicone is better for higher temperature resistance, long-term aging resistance, or strict silicone-grade requirements. Send us your application and target quantity, and we will recommend the safer option before tooling.
3. Will gate marks or parting lines be visible?
Gate marks and parting lines cannot be completely removed, but their position can be controlled. For visible or hand-touch areas, we will place them on less noticeable areas whenever the structure allows.
4. How do you help choose the right Shore hardness?
We choose hardness based on the part function. Sealing parts need proper compression, grip parts need comfort and anti-slip feel, and protective parts need cushioning and shape stability. If you have a sample, we can use it as the hardness reference.
5. Can the mold be modified after sampling?
Yes. After T1 sampling, minor fit, flash, edge, gate, or dimension adjustments can usually be modified. If the change affects the main structure, we will confirm the cost and lead time before modification.
6. What post-processing options are available for TPE molded parts?
We can support trimming, flash removal, texture, color matching, silk printing, simple assembly, labeling, individual packing, carton packing, and export packaging.
