Our in-house tooling workshop designs and manufactures Two-Shot molds using CNC, EDM, and WEDM, with critical mold tolerances controlled to ±0.01 mm.
Common Two-Shot Injection Molding Challenges We Solve
Two-Shot Injection Molding requires two materials and molding stages to work together correctly. Our engineers focus on the problems that can affect appearance, fit, and final part quality.

Some materials may not bond well or may require very different molding temperatures. We review the exact resin grades, compare their processing conditions, and confirm the material combination through trial molding before production.

If the first and second molded sections do not line up correctly, the color line, appearance, or assembly fit can be affected. We adjust mold positioning and molding conditions until both sections match the approved sample.

Different materials can cool and shrink at different rates, causing the finished part to bend or lose its required shape. We account for both shrinkage rates in mold design and fine-tune the process during trials.

Excess plastic can appear where the two materials meet, leaving an uneven or rough transition line. We improve the mold fit at the contact area and adjust molding pressure to keep the boundary clean.

Even with compatible materials, delamination can occur during dual shot injection molding if the materials do not bond properly with the first material. We verify the material compatibility and adjust the molding temperature, pressure, and time to ensure a stable bond.
